THE CHALLENGE

Ethiopian Aerospace produced Aircraft Wire Kit Harnesses and manufactured related Electrical and Electronic Accessories. In the year 2021, the Airline started component maintenance as per ECARAS Part 6 approval. The Airline was undertaking production and maintenance activities together and needed to be identified as a maintenance center additionally.

CERTIFICATION JOURNEY AND BUSINESS IMPACT

As an avowed intention to assist aerospace organisations to avail best business options available with optimum effort; NVT QC, the certification body which had certified Ethiopian Airlines to AS 9100 standard, offered to undertake an integrated audit, thus saving time and costs incurred in obtaining certification to two standards, AS 9100D and AS 9110C. The integrated audit resulted in certification of the Quality Management System of Ethiopian Airlines to both standards through an integrated audit.
